Norms set by it for the discharge of its functions
(B) Norms set for consideration and disposal of appeals preferred by aggrieved institutions.
- Any person aggrieved by an order made under Section 14, Section 5 or Section 17 of the NCTE Act may prefer an appeal in a form prescribed for the purpose to the Council within 60 days of issue of such orders alongwith a fee of Rs.10,000/- in the form of crossed demand draft drawn in favour of the National Council for Teacher Education.
- An appeal may also be admitted after expiry of the said period of 60 days, if the appellant satisfies the Council that he had sufficient causes for not preferring the appeal within the period of limitation.
- Every appeal is disposed of within a period of three months from the date of its filing.
- Ordinarily, not more than three adjournments are allowed in any appeal.
