
She started meeting public, poor parents, village's Panchayath heads and leaders of various local organizations like youth group, women associations etc. She rised their support towards improving her school. She developed the ownership feeling among the public.
Mrs. Meenakshi promoted the Parents Teachers Association as her first step. She convinced them about the situation of the school and her dream of making it as a model school. The poor agriculture labourers agreed to join her hand in realize it.
Slowly and steadily the school has improved in structure and quality. Now the children are looking very elegance in neat uniformed dress, tie and identity cards with photo and they perform well. Now the school stands with clear paint, flagstaff, and beautiful garden with walls. In side the class room every classroom has wall clocks, picture of state and national leaders, writings on 'Thirukural', electrification with ceiling fans, and needed furniture. Now this school strengthened from five teachers to eight teachers.
All these were brought to the school by the effort of Mrs. Meenakshi and her co - teachers with the support of the community. The Kattupakkam primary school is now identified as a model school in Nemily Block of Vellore District in Tamilnadu.
She teaches not only to the school children but also to the community.
